Getting started with PCF

Learn what a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) is and how our solution enables accurate product-level emissions data.

What is a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)?

A Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) allows you to calculate emissions at the product level—either to provide more accurate Scope 3.1 data for customers who request it, or to assess and improve the environmental impact of your own products to share with your stakeholders.

By calculating PCFs, companies gain product-level visibility into their emissions instead of relying only on broad estimates or financial data. This makes it possible to:

  • Identify the biggest sources of emissions in your value chain.

  • Respond accurately to customer and regulatory requests for product-level data.

  • Make better decisions to reduce emissions and meet sustainability targets.

Why PCF Matters for Scope 3 Emissions

Many companies struggle with Scope 3.1 emissions (those linked to purchased goods and services), which often make up the largest share of their total emissions. Traditionally, these emissions are estimated using spend-based data (how much money was spent on goods).

The problem? Spend-based methods are inaccurate and make it difficult to act on the results. To really reduce emissions, companies need product-specific data from their suppliers.

How Our PCF Solution Helps

Our solution is designed to make PCF calculation simple, accurate, and accessible for suppliers — so that you, as a customer, can get better emissions data from your value chain.

Key Benefits

  • AI-powered calculations
Our system automatically matches supplier input (materials, components, energy use) to the right emission factors. This removes the complexity of manual calculations.

  • Support for global standards
We align with recognized PCF methodologies (such as CBAM, PACT, and TfS) to ensure your data is compliant and comparable.

  • Supplier-friendly design
We provide an easy-to-use tool for suppliers to calculate product emissions with minimal effort, reducing the burden on your sustainability teams.

  • Accurate Scope 3.1 reporting
With product-level data, your company moves beyond estimates and gains trusted insights to drive sustainability decisions.
