What if I produce other goods in one location that are not affected by CBAM?
What if I produce other goods in one location that are not affected by CBAM?

If the factory is not only producing CBAM goods, but other parts and components, this needs to be accounted for in the data points that are provided.

It is recommended to do a mass allocation for the data points. The total factory output is put into perspective of the output of the CBAM goods. This ratio can be used to adjust the data points.

Example

Total factory output = 200,000 t

CBAM goods output (aluminium products) = 150,000 t

Total factory electricity consumption = 300 MWh

CBAM electricity consumption (for aluminium products) = 225 MWh

In this example, the CBAM electricity consumption of 225 MWh will be used as input fields.

πŸ’‘ It is important to allocate the consumption data accordingly. Otherwise, the CBAM emissions would be way higher than they actually are.
