Introduction to Exiobase
Exiobase is a detailed environmental database built to help businesses, government officials, and scientists understand economic relationships and how these different economic activities affect the environment. It's a special kind of database known as an environmentally extended multi-regional input-output (EE-MRIO) database, which means it keeps track of resources and pollution across international supply chains. Exiobase emission factors allow to calculate emissions from the activity based on the amount of money spent on it. This is known as the 'spend-based' calculation method.
Exiobase most notable features include:
Multi-regional Coverage: It covers almost 50 countries and regions across the globe, enabling users to analyze global supply chains and their environmental impacts.
Sectoral Detail: The database provides detailed sectoral breakdowns, making it possible to pinpoint the environmental impacts of specific industries.
